Trump Decertification of N. Deal Opportunity to Iran More Than Threat

Yamanyoon- 23 Oct 2017

US President Donald Trump’s decertification of the nuclear agreement with Iran is an opportunity to the Islamic Republic more than a threat.

Trump’s step drew welcoming reaction from the Zionist entity, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates; while all other world states and countries harshly criticized this, considering it as non-conducive to world peace, threatening to world security; and asserted their commitment to the agreement.

Due to Trump’s strategic idiocy, Iran so far, has yielded great results on both domestic and international levels.

On the domestic level, Iran with all its wings has come to a one solid United position behind its leadership.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which came under tough attack from Washington, has received unprecedented support on both popular and official levels, thus gaining huge sympathy and giving it an opportunity to perpetuate and flourish even better than before.

On the international level, Iran has been able, and for the first time, to cause real division among the Western camp, namely inside the USA itself, and among the ruling party and Trump’s administration; and among Washington’s direct allies as well, namely Britain, France, Germany and other countries. They all swiftly and publicly rejected The US approach, depicting it a grave mistake. They further explicitly asserted their commitment to the international agreement.

Iran has proved to be a credible party and trustworthy partner on the international level, while the US appeared to be the opposite to all this.

Washington has set a bad example and gave an early signal to other international parties that it neither holds to its agreements nor respects its commitments.

Iran now has been able to win the diplomatic battle, and is heading to change this US threat into an opportunity. An opportunity that would bring Iran not only sympathy, rather benefits on many levels. It would not be long before the Americans discover that by attempting to isolate Iran, they actually isolated themselves and gave many of their allies the opportunity to take independent and rational steps that benefit them without considering the US stance as their defining policy or guiding strategy. This is a good beginning, and Tehran could benefit from and capitalize over as to build more sturdy relations away from US influence and political blackmail.
