The head of the National Delegation, Mohamed Abdulsalam, said Monday that Saudi Arabia’s claim of targeting the Ta’if area is a failed attempt by Saudis to break the deadlock that it put itself in, with its war against Yemen. In a statement to Almasirah channel, Abdulsalam said that “Saudi Arabia fabricated the lie of a threat to Mecca to mobilize on the official and popular level.” He considers the Arab and Gulf summit in Saudi Arabia is a bubble aimed at diverting attention from the reality of what is happening in Yemen and to get international sympathy.
Abdulsalam stressed that these allegations reflect the level of bankruptcy in the Saudi regime. “They have resumed using the Kaba to get out of this dilemma they put themselves in. These allegations are unreasonable and contrary to the values of the Yemeni Army and the Popular Committees throughout the five-year of conflict,” he explained. He pointed out that the official Saudi media did not adopt these lies until this moment, but instructed some writers to publish them.
The head of the National Delegation made it clear that any operation of the Ministry of Defense is announced, and there is nothing wrong with stating the Ministry response as a ligament defense of the people, land, dignity and sovereignty.
He added that the Yemeni people are a Muslim people who pray every day five times to Mecca, and “we won’t include such holy sites as targets of the existing battle.” He pointed out that we avoid targeting civilians as well as holy places. He also stressed that “when we respond to this aggression and hit military targets, we are always proud of these operations.”
