Deputy Foreign Minister: We’re Not Surprised by the Lies of the US Secretary of State

Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Tuesday commented on the recent announcements made by US Secretary of State Pompeo on Yemen.

“Pompeo is aware of our commitment to peace and recognizes the extent of our positive engagement with the UN envoy and with the Chairman of the Committee for the Coordination of the Redeployment plan,’ he said in a statement to Yemen’s news agency, Saba.

” He also knows very well the scale of the facilities we offer the United Nations and the size of concessions we have addressed for peace and alleviate the suffering of our people,” he added.

“We are certainly not surprised when the secretary of state of America is lying because we know who he is, we know who America is and what role it plays in this aggression against our country, we even know why they are lying,” he said in response to Pompeo’s remarks.

Al-Ezzi stressed that America, through the statements, issued by its Foreign Minister, proves for the thousandth time that it is the actual leader of this aggression and that it is the first obstacle to peace.

“It is the one who orders its allies and tools in the coalition of aggression to obstruct the Hodeidah agreement, Washington is forced to lie to cover these obstacles,” he stated.

“Pompeo is also forced to deceive and mislead the American people, especially with the White House’s lack of justification to continue to align itself with the coalition of corruption, terrorism, and tyranny against the Yemeni people with its just cause, who are against injustice, terrorism, corruption, and they are struggling for their freedom, independence, security, and stability,” he said.

The Deputy Foreign Minister that such statements come in the context of disclosure and the clearly Washington’s desire to continue the war with known motives, including completion of the suction of the remaining reserves of the Gulf.

He pointed out that such statements also come to complete the stages of weakening the Kingdom as a prelude to dividing it in and that today is described clearly and strategically, especially after the success of the UAE in presenting themselves to the Americans in the manner required to be the preferred alternative to occupy Saudi Arabia’s mercenary site in region.

“It remains to be noted that Pompeo appeared in part of his statements as if he were speaking on behalf of the United Nations when he said frankly that ” whenever the United Nations applied to us we reject it”, ” he said.
“And that puts the credibility of the United Nations at stake, which needs clarification to know the truth of the peace process, and therefore we hope that the silence of the UN envoy and the head of the UN mission committee to support the Stockholm agreement on Hodeidah will not last long with these bold statements,” he added.

Hussein al-Ezzi pointed out that there is a question and it is important for Pompeo to remember it well every time he tries to spoil Stockholm in Hodeidah or to lie and slander us: What after Stockholm? “He said.

“We will remain committed to peace and the Stockholm agreement so that this agreement succeeds or fails. We will not answer the previous question, but it is enough to say that if the United States and UK insist on thwarting Stockholm, the post-Stockholm period will not be as it was before and our people will not suffer alone,” he said adding that the interests of Yemen will not remain only the victim,” he said.

Al-Ezzi reiterated the call to support the peace efforts instead of enhancing war, respecting the sovereignty of Yemen, the rights and hopes of the Yemeni people and dealing with them on the basis of mutual interests, mutual respect.
