The Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden to Yemen and Libya, Ambassador Peter Simbi, briefed on Friday on the degree of the damage inflicted by the presidential office building and the presidential palace in the capital Sana’a as a result of Saudi-led coalition air raids.

During the visit, Simbi met with a number of residents in those areas, who gave him testimonies about the war crime and the extent of its brutality by bombing civilian service facilities located in vital areas, as well as targeting medical personnel who rushed to aid the injured.
The Swedish envoy expressed his regret over the bombardment of civilian buildings and government offices, considering such act as unjustified and contrary to law.
The head of the Department of Local Authority in the presidential office, Qassim al-Houthi, who accompanied the Swedish ambassador, stated that the targeting of government offices and services at official working hours embodies the level of criminality the US-backed coalition has reached.
Meanwhile, Al-Houthi called on Sweden to play its role in international bodies, especially the Human Rights Council and the Security Council, work end the oppression of Yemeni people and push towards the formation of an international investigation into the crimes of Saudi-led coalition humanitarian breaches against the Yemeni people.
