Tens of thousands of Yemenis protest U.S. embassy inauguration in al-Quds

Yamanyoon

Tens of thousands of Yemeni people took to the streets in the capital Sanaطa on Tuesday to protest the United States inauguration of its embassy in al-Quds.

The protesters, rising the Palestinian flags, poured into Bab al-Yemen Square in downtown Sana’a to participate in the rally called for by the Supreme Revolutionary Committee of Ansarullah.

The protesters shouted outraged slogans at the recent criminal action, which is against international law, expressing their emotions using slogans such as: “Death to America, Death to Israel, Long Live al-Quds”.

The protesters also condemned the Israeli war crimes against the Palestinian people as well as the U.S. opening of its embassy in al-Quds.

Chief of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, attended the rally and delivered a speech to the furious crowds.

“We call on the Arab and Islamic nations to form a united army and liberate the occupied Palestinian lands and to restore al-Quds from the Zionist entity to the Palestinian people,” al-Houthi said.

“The Decisive Storm launched by the U.S.-backed Saudi-led coalition against the Yemeni people was supposed to be directed against Israel, the common enemy of the Arab and Muslim nations,” he stressed.

On Monday, the United States announced the opening of its embassy in al-Quds, recognizing the city as the capital city of Israel, amid the silence of the US-allied Arab leaders, topped by Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

The U.S. move has triggered an all-out clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces, in which at least 60 Palestinians were killed and over 2,000 wounded.

The Supreme Political Council on Monday strongly condemned the U.S. blatant act, considering it as a “war on the Arab and Muslim nations.”
